TK1 Studios is a photography program powered by True Kids 1, a youth media-and-technology nonprofit in Taos, NM. TK1 Studios not only offers professional photography services, but also helps support youth mentorship, hands-on training, and media education opportunities for youth in our community.

Born and raised in Taos, Augustine “Augie” Abeyta is a recent Taos High School Graduate and current student at UNM-Taos, where he is pursuing a degree in Business. Augie first joined the TK1 team as a senior in 2023 as a sports photography student intern and is now our TK1 Youth Photography Specialist, leading our photography efforts in both the studio and for our sports journalism after-school program. He’s passionate about mentoring younger photographers and continuing to grow his skill set as an artist and entrepreneur.
Born and raised in Taos, Miquela is the TK1 Administrator. She is a graduate of Taos High and has two young children. For the past five years, Miquela has worked in the nonprofit field, and is currently working toward her BA in Interpersonal Communication with a Minors in Management. Although much of her work is behind the scenes, she enjoys contributing to causes that make a positive impact in her community, especially for our youth.
